November is National Career Month

November is National Career Month, dedicated to reflecting on your professional growth and career goals. The Organizational Learning and Talent Development (OLTD) Division of  Human Resources encourages you to take time this month to focus on your career development.

Here are suggestions and resources to get started:

  • Discuss your career goals with your supervisor. They can help you identify resources in your division or department that may be available to guide you in career advancement.
  • Attend a career-oriented class. OLTD is offering two classes this year, “Build Your Reputation for Career Success” and “Finding Purpose in My Work” that focus on career skills and strategies. Get more information and register in HRMS.
  • Explore the career and professional development resources OLTD has to offer.
  • Update your resume or strengthen your interviewing skills. Our career development videos on our HR YouTube channel offer tips on these areas, among others.

We hope you’ll take advantage of these opportunities to thrive in your career. For more information, call (804) 501-7201 or [email protected].

Be a GROWER for M4K and support Henrico CASA!

Last year, Henrico CASA‘s Mustaches for Kids team generated $100,000 in support of CASA’s work helping vulnerable children! That is stache-tastic!

SO, WE MUSTACHE YOU A QUESTION… Will you join this year’s team of mustache growers? Whether real or faux, thin or fluffy, your mustache will make a real difference to Henrico CASA and the children they serve.

To become a ‘grower’:
1. Register to join Team Henrico Heroes on the Mustaches for Kids site.
2. Sport a mustache Nov. 5 – Dec. 5.
3. When people ask, tell them your ‘stache is making a difference for Henrico’s kids!
