The Employee Health Services (EHS) clinic is an on-site medical facility dedicated to providing competent and efficient care Henrico County employees. Our priority is providing work-related services, but we are also available to see employees for personal health and wellness concerns. The clinic is typically staffed by multiple nurse practitioners, a registered nurse, and an administrative assistant. All services are by appointment, and while we do accept walk-ins for urgent matters, we prefer you call in advance to schedule. This will help you avoid long waits and will allow us enough time to spend with you.

We are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 pm. We are closed on weekends and county-approved holidays.

We are located at 7740 Shrader Rd. Suite A, Henrico, VA 23228.

Our Services

The Employee Health Services (EHS) clinic is dedicated to providing competent and efficient work-related services for Henrico County employees. Some of these include:

  • Pre-employment physical examinations for certain positions (Fire, Police, Sheriff).
  • Routine physical examinations for certain positions (Fire, Police, Sheriff).
  • Periodic surveillance examinations such as:
    • OSHA
    • Hearing Conservation Program
    • OSHA Respiratory
    • Protection Program
    • Immunizations
  • Work-related injury and illness (Workers’ Compensation): If you seek medical care related to an injury on-the-job and want to be considered for payment through Workers’ Compensation, you, or your supervisor, must first contact Care 24 at 1-855-954-0866 to report the incident. When asked, you will give: ‘Henrico County’ as employer name.

While we do not replace your primary care provider, we can treat your minor illnesses and injuries including prescription medication if needed.  Examples of these types of minor illnesses include:

  • Sore /strep throat
  • Cold/Flu
  • Allergy symptoms
  • Eye Problems (scratch, pink eye)
  • Ear Problems (infection, wax build-up)
  • Cough
  • Urinary Tract/Bladder Infection
  • Skin Rashes /Insect Bites
  • Minor cuts/Abrasions
  • Strains/Sprains

We want to help people stay healthy and in control of existing medical problems. We offer the following preventative services to employees:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Blood sugar checks
  • Smoking Cessation Counseling
  • Brochures and other printed information about various health conditions
  • Individualized health counseling and/or information:
    • Diabetes
    • High blood pressure
    • Cholesterol  Management
    • Diet & Weight Loss
    • Cardiovascular Risk

  • Suture Removal
  • Allergy or B12 Injections (under the direction of your provider)
  • DOT physical examinations

We Cannot Treat the Following:

  • Monitoring and treatment of chronic problems (like diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, psych/mental health problems, etc.).
  • Non-work related conditions that require x-ray or lab work.
  • Emergencies such as severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or severe allergic reactions. In these cases, please call 911 or go to the ER!
