CPR / AED / First Aid Training

This Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED course is designed for Henrico County employees and is available to employees in departments where the course is not already offered.

This course is designed to provide a 2-year certification in Standard First Aid, CPR and AED skills.  It teaches what treatment steps to take during an emergency, emphasizing life-threatening conditions and focusing on critical life-saving skills.  It contains current information on CPR, AED, injuries, and illnesses as well as hemorrhage control and opioid overdose response.

This in-person, hands-on course is taught at the Henrico Training Center at 7701 East Parham Rd. The class lasts 2 hours.  Please come dressed and prepared to perform active chest compressions on CPR dummies.  As a prerequisite,  each student will be assigned the online portion of the course through eSafety Training. The online modules must be successfully completed within the previous 12 months and at least 2 days prior to the class in order to attend the classroom session.  Once both portions are complete, each student will receive a certification card. Certification is through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute in association with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
