Employees can provide input for Climate Action and Adaptation Strategy

Henrico County is seeking input from the community to support development of a Climate Action and Adaptation Strategy (CAAS), and employees can participate by providing feedback in an employee survey, attending a public meeting and participating in a staff focus group.

The CAAS is designed to help county operations and the broader community reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience in preparation for more frequent and severe weather resulting from climate change.

Employees can share their perspectives on local climate action and provide feedback in a staff survey through March 16.

Employees can sign up for a focus group discussion scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Libbie Mill Library, 2100 Libbie Lake E. St.

Employees also can provide feedback and learn about the CAAS at any of several open-house public meetings scheduled to begin next week:

  • Thursday, Feb. 19, 6:30-8 p.m., Varina Area Library, 1875 New Market Road
  • Thursday, Feb. 26, 5-6:30 p.m., Glen Allen Branch Library, 10501 Staples Mill Road
  • Monday, March 2, 4:30-6 p.m., Tuckahoe Area Library, 1901 Starling Drive
  • Tuesday, March 3, 5:30-7 p.m., Fairfield Area Library, 1401 N. Laburnum Ave.
