HenBIKEo Safety Workshop

May 14 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Henrico is celebrating Bike Month!

From 5:00-7:00 p.m., join us for a HenBIKEo Safety Workshop:

  • On The Pier at Libbie Mill, learn about cycling safety and pedestrian infrastructure improvements with Public Works and Recreation and Parks.  There’ll also be a Safety Pledge to sign as well as materials to make a “safety pizza.”
  • In the Libbie Mill Library parking lot, kids can develop their cycling skills with the Bike Police and H.E.A.R.T.
  • 1115 Mobile Kitchen will be serving food for purchase.

After the workshop, Blue Ridge Cyclery invites cyclists of all ages and abilities on a ride with Public Works.  Starting from and ending at The Pier, this supported group ride will have 3-mile and 9-mile options with five stops.  Representatives from Public Works and Bike Walk RVA will present on upcoming bike lanes and trails.  You can view the route here (the 3-mile option turns around after the Dickens Road presentation).

The ride will depart promptly at 7:00 p.m. with the 9-mile riders returning by 8:30 p.m..  Helmets and front and rear bike lights are required by law.

Can’t make it?  Check out more Bike Month events here or come to a future HenBIKEo Safety Workshop:

You can also look forward to HenBIKEo, a new Recreation and Parks special event, on September 20 at Crump Park.
