DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in becoming a foster parent? Please attend the Henrico County Department of Social Service’s  free information session to learn how you can support local children and their families. \nRepresentatives from Social Services will review eligibility requirements\, resources the county and state will provide to foster parents\, the different ways you can open your home for youth in foster care\, and more. \nWe are in need of families for all ages\, especially: \n\nYouth aged 12 and older.\nLarge sibling groups (2 children or more) – you must have room to accommodate the children.\nFamilies that can care for young children (aged 0-4) who cannot attend daycare for one reason or another\, including\, but not limited to:\n\nNewborns (too young/not eligible for daycare);\nMedical needs (child needs to be stabilized before he or she will be able to go to daycare); or\nChild has experienced trauma thus transitions/multiple caretakers need to be minimized.\n\n\n\nPlease visit our website for more information: https://henrico.gov/dss/foster-parenting/become-a-foster-parent/

DESCRIPTION:Henrico is celebrating Bike Month! \nFrom 5:00-7:00 p.m.\, join us for a HenBIKEo Safety Workshop:\n\n\nOn The Pier at Libbie Mill\, learn about road use safety and Henrico County’s infrastructure improvements from Public Works and Recreation and Parks with giveaways\, a Safety Pledge\, and crafts.\nIn the Libbie Mill Library parking lot\, kids can develop their cycling skills with the Bike Police.\n\n\nAfter the workshop\, Blue Ridge Cyclery invites cyclists of all ages and abilities on a ride with Public Works. Starting from and ending at the Pier\, this supported group ride will have 1.5-mile and 7.5-mile options with five stops. Representatives from Public Works and Bike Walk RVA will present on upcoming bike lanes and trails.\n \nView the route (The 1.5-mile option turns around after the Bethlehem Road presentation.)\n \nThe ride will depart promptly at 7:00 p.m. with the 7.5-mile riders returning by 8:00 p.m.. SUMMARY:Climate Action and Adaptation Strategy Focus Group Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Henrico County is seeking input from the community to support development of a Climate Action and Adaptation Strategy (CAAS)\, and employees can participate by providing feedback in an employee survey\, attending a public meeting and participating in a staff focus group.  \nThe CAAS is designed to help county operations and the broader community reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience in preparation for more frequent and severe weather resulting from climate change.   \nEmployees can sign up for a focus group discussion scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. Monday\, Feb. 23\, at Libbie Mill Library\, 2100 Libbie Lake E. DESCRIPTION:The annual Henrico Holiday Express Tour has its last route on Thursday\, December 11th. We will stage the parade and leave from Libbie Mill Library at 5pm\, cruise through the Brookland and Fairfield districts\, and make our final stop at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center around 8pm. Don’t miss your chance to catch the Rec and Parks Parade Float along with a decorated firetruck\, dump truck\, library van\, and of course SANTA! \nFrom 4:30-5pm:\n-Visit Libbie Mill Library to view the floats up close\, grab a craft bag\, and see Santa & friends. \nFrom 5-8pm:\n-Santa Claus is comin’ through town.
