DESCRIPTION:The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold an adoption event on Saturday\, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road. \nHelp pets find homes so that they can spend the holidays – and a lifetime – with their new families\, thanks to the generous sponsorship from community partners! The William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation and Furbish Thrift are sponsoring the spay and neuter surgeries for the animals\, and the Henrico Humane Society is sponsoring the adoption fees of any pets adopted during the event. \nSussex County and Petersburg City animal services are partnering with the shelter for this event and will bring adoptable pets from their shelters as well. \nA quick reminder to potential adopters: Pets are not presents; they are long-term commitments to care for\, and one that is so worth it! Please talk to shelter staff for any recommendations on finding a veterinarian\, groomer or other animal care services. \nBeing a resident of Henrico is not required to adopt a pet from the shelter! People interested in pet adoption must be 18 or older and will need to provide a valid photo ID. Cats\, dogs\, rabbits and guinea pigs are looking for loving homes! \nCommunity members are invited to meet pets available for adoption and help future animals in need of care. Thanks to the sponsorships from Henrico Humane Society\, Furbish Thrift and the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation\, any dogs who are already spayed or neutered are ready to go home with their adopters the same day with just a $10 adoption fee. \nPets who have not already been spayed or neutered will have additional fees for their procedures. The spay or neuter will be scheduled upon adoption and will be ready to go home with their families shortly after! \n“Every adoption is a double win for us; a pet goes home with their new family\, and we gain space to support incoming lost and stray animals” said shelter manager Pamela Bridgmon. “Over 100 shelter dogs have found homes as a result of these events in the past 11 months\, thanks to the community and our wonderful volunteers.” \nAdopters must be 18 or older\, but are not required to be Henrico County residents. Adopters will need to have a valid photo ID and pay an adoption fee\, which varies upon the spay/neuter status of the pet. \nAll pets available for adoption can be viewed online on our PetFinder and AdoptaPet pages.

DESCRIPTION:The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold an adoption event Saturday\, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road\, Glen Allen\, VA 23060. \nDuring the month of August\, organizations across the country are encouraged to “Clear the Shelter\,” as part of an initiative founded 11 years ago by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and NBCUniversal Local. The county shelter is coordinating with community partners to host a local Clear the Shelter event to find loving homes for dogs\, cats\, rabbits and guinea pigs. Thanks to the Henrico Humane Society\, Furbish Thrift and the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation\, many of our pets will be up to date on their vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures\, which means they will be ready to go home with their new families upon adoption. DESCRIPTION:December 14\, 2024 at 10:00 am – 4:30 pm\nFree\n\n\n\nThe Henrico County Police Division Animal Protection Unit will hold an adoption event on Saturday\, December 14\, 2024\, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Police Animal Shelter (10421 Woodman Road\, Glen Allen\, VA 23060). \nOur goal is to find homes for the animals currently in our care so that they can spend the holidays – and a lifetime – with their new families! The William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation and Furbish Thrift are sponsoring the spay and neuter surgeries for the animals\, and the Henrico Humane Society is sponsoring the adoptions fees of any pets adopted during the event. \nPeople interested in adopting a pet will need to bring a photo ID to the event. You are encouraged to bring a collar\, and a leash or carrier with you for transportation home from the shelter that day.
