SUMMARY:Student Government Day
DESCRIPTION:On May 8\, 1958\, the Kiwanis Club of North Richmond sponsored the first Student Government Day in Henrico County. Since then\, Student Government Day has given students from each of our high schools a day to work alongside and learn from the county’s government and school officials. Student Government Day is being enhanced beginning in fall 2022. While it will culminate with a spring event to celebrate and share what the participants have learned\, the program is designed to provide sustained learning and hands-on experiences through occasional touch points that begin in the fall. This allows students to learn about the work of government and school leaders through real life situations. \nStudent Government Day will be Wednesday April 9\, 2025 from 8:30am – 3:00pm  \nGeneral Government Agenda Wednesday\, April 9\, 2025 Western Government Center | 4301 East Parham Road \n  \n\n8:30 a.m. Breakfast Welcome Reception – Café 1611\n9:00 a.m. “On the Job” & Tours – Department Lead\n12:00 p.m. Lunch – On Your Own\n1:30 p.m. Mock Board of Supervisors Work Session & Presentation of Certificates – Board Room/Administration Building\n\n  \nStudents assigned to General Government staff will meet at the Western Government Center (view available Parking).
