DESCRIPTION:The Henrico County Police Animal Protection Unit will hold its Rabies Clinic on February 22\, 2025\, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Western Government Complex (4301 E. Parham Road). \nRabies vaccinations are $20 each\, cash only! Cats must be in carriers. \nRegistration and payment are done first inside the Administration building at the Cashier’s office. You will then proceed to veterinarian on the first level of the parking deck adjacent to the Administration Building. \nHenrico County dog licenses will also be available. The lifetime license fee is $10. The license is for the life of the dog and is valid as long as the dog’s owner resides in the County and the dog’s rabies vaccination is kept current. The license is void if the dog does not receive a rabies vaccination within 30 days of the expiration of the dog’s current rabies vaccination. \nContact the Henrico Police Animal Shelter at 804-727-8801 (open Monday-Saturday\, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.) with any further questions.

If you do not have a NOAA Weather Radio\, simply start your drill\, and enact your safety plan at 9:45 AM.\nThere will be no follow-up statements to mark the end of the statewide tornado drill. DESCRIPTION:Join us at Fairfield Library at 1401 N. Laburnum Ave on Tuesday March 4th\, March 11th\, and March 18th as we tackle challenging topics for caregivers supporting older adults in Henrico. We will end the series with a Senior & Caregiver Expo on Tuesday\, March 25th at Eastern Henrico Recreation Center to learn about resources to assist older adults in our community. \nTuesday\, March 4th\, 6 pm-7 pm Dementia 101: A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will share information about the stages of dementia\, resources for caregivers\, and take questions from community members. \nTuesday\, March 11th\, 6 pm-7 pm Supporting Your Loved One as Their Abilities Change: Lisa Isbell with Senior Care Authority of Central Virginia will share resources for individuals with varying levels of need and tips for recognizing changes in need and having difficult conversations about care. \nTuesday\, March 18th\, 6 pm-7 pm End of Life: A Representative from Crater Community Hospice will help caregivers understand the difference between hospice and palliative care\, and provide techniques for conversing about end-of-life with loved ones. \nContact the Advocate for the Aging with any questions or to learn more about the event at agingadvocate@henrico.gov or 804-501-5065. \n  \nDifficult Conversation Series

SUMMARY:Teen Summit 2025
DESCRIPTION:Teen Summit RVA 2023 was the first of its kind regional high school leadership summit designed to connect students\, in a safe space\, to speak out and have their voices heard. Teen Summit RVA is a day designed to amplify youth voices against violence and address wellness. Students exchange ideas on leadership pathways for positive change in the Richmond region. The event welcomes hundreds of diverse high school students who engage in interactive experiences addressing various topics students selected mixed with the arts and entertainment – from gun violence and safety\, drugs and mental health\, culture\, and equity in their school district and community. These experiences range from thought provoking conversations led by experts in their field to art and spoken word as a means of expression. In addition\, teens explore careers and summer job opportunities in the InspireYouth@Work Career and Resource Fair.  Teen Summit RVA gives teens insights into how to work in their community to improve their wellbeing and to challenge social norms. \nTeen Summit RVA is presented by the counties of Chesterfield\, Henrico and Hanover\, and the City of Richmond with support from each locality’s school division. The event has been sponsored by The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond and Virginia Career Works with support from nearly 20 contributing partners who provided financial and in-kind support.
